PAA Announces Winer 09/10 Grant Cycle Dates

For the last 72 years, the Peninsula Arts Association has been supporting the arts in Door County. Since 1994, a large portion of the organization’s efforts have focused on ArtFund, a program created by the Wisconsin Arts Board to provide funds to arts organizations throughout the state. The funds provided by the Wisconsin Arts Board are matched dollar for dollar with money that PAA receives through donations and fundraising. The total is then awarded to county artists and art’s organizations twice a year. ArtFund organizations, such as the PAA, must reapply each year for acceptance to this program. Currently, Door County residents are the only in Northeast Wisconsin who qualify for ArtFund grants. In the last 15 years, the WAB has helped the PAA distribute over $500,000 to local artists.
We are looking for original projects designed by individual artists and organizations with a strong focus on the community. Individual applicants are required to partner with a non-profit organization and all projects must have a public component such as a workshop, exhibit or performance.

The current cycle’s time line is as follows:
Monday, October 5 - Grant cycle opens, applications are available.
Monday, November 30 - Applications postmarked or submitted digitally for Technical Review.
Friday, December 18 - Applications must be postmarked for final submission.
Sunday, January 10 - Final Application Review to be held at the Boardroom, Liberty Square, Egg Harbor at 2pm.

Please contact the grants administrator, Stephanie St. John, in order to request an application and set up a time to discuss the guidelines and your project. She will be available throughout the application process to answer questions and help in the technical aspects of grant writing. All first time applicants are required to submit to the technical review, though this is strongly recommended to all applicants. Stephanie can be reached at by email paa(at)stjohnstudios(dot)com.
